Recently, both Genecast’s Headquarter in Beijing and the Medical Laboratory in Wu’xi successfully passed the 2018 Proficiency Testing (PT) of The European Molecular Genetics Quality Network (EMQN). In addition to the EQAs, this marks another excellent achievement by The National Center for Clinical Laboratories (NCCL) and The Shanghai Center for Clinical Laboratory (SCCL). Once again this indicates that Genecast is recognized by authoritative international agencies in precise medical testing, standard quality management and professional testing services.

Founded in Manchester, UK in 1998, EMQN is an international non-profit supplier of external quality assessment for global clinical laboratories of molecular genetics. Its EQA activities represent one of the highest certification standards among global clinical laboratories of molecular genetics. The institution has been approved by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and the Accreditation Criteria for Proficiency Testing Providers (ISO17043).

A total of 102 laboratories from 24 countries attended this EQA. Genecast took part in the assessment on the high-throughput gene detection ability for hereditary tumors in Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 2 (MEN2) and Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP).
